WEATHER VIDEO LIBRARY

Twice a day, at 0900 and 1500 GMT,  the station video captures the weather using a Swann external video camera and DVD recorder. The excerpt is a short 2 minute video providing a visual record of the changing dynamic of the sky and atmosphere at that point in time. The 0900 video provides a useful addition to the routine set of climatological observations taken by the station at this hour, whilst the 1500 video gives an idea of how the weather has developed during the course of the day. In addition, if the station is manned, a video recording may be made of significant weather*.

These videos are not available via the Internet. However, anyone wishing to view any particular video can do so free of charge by visiting the weather station in person. Alternatively, for a small charge the station can convert a particular video to MPEG, AVI or WMI  format and send it via email§.  To contact the station either to view video footage or to arrange conversion of a particular video telephone (01604) 880306 or email office@northantsweather.org.uk. Video footage is not available before February 2009.

Still images of the sky taken by our web cam are made available online. These images are captured every 15 minutes and remain on this web site for 7 days. Click here to view the current and previous images. Images older than 7 days are not archived.
