TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE

Messaging allows you to have weather information sent directly via email or to your phone as soon as it becomes available from the weather station. Currently we are releasing a text message at 3 hourly intervals running from 0600hrs to 2100hrs daily.

To receive the message via your mobile you need to have an email account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is capable of sending an "sms" text message to your phone.

When weather information is uploaded to our site a message is generated which is sent to your email account. The information you require is in the subject only,  which means this is the only option you need to activate under the "sms" preferences.

What will I see?

To register for this service please email the weather station directly. If the message is received via email there is no charge. However, to receive the message as an sms text message via mobile phone a charge may be levied depending on the Internet Service Provider used. For help in selecting an appropriate ISP for this service, please contact the weather station. Please note that the frequency of messages is set at 5 per day. Users can specify which days of the week to receive text messaging. Remember to include this in your email otherwise we will set the default frequency as daily.
